About the Author
Some stories wait decades to be told. On my last visit to my father, I discovered his handwritten memoirs tucked away in a drawer — his firsthand account of survival so extraordinary I couldn't let it disappear. The Able Queen is my father's story, told in his own words, but brought to life by me and a few other fans who refused to let history forget him.
Armed with an MFA in Creative Writing and determination, I transformed his dramatic story into The Able Queen, a true tale from the forgotten history of World War II.
The Able Queen recently won an International Impact Award and remains a favorite among World War II fans worldwide.
began work on my first novel, a work of speculative historical fiction, when I discovered that an old family story about something that happened to my ancestors during the Civil War was actually true.
Due to be released this fall, my new book, Devils on Horseback, tells this family secret cloaked in the exciting idea of time travel into the past. Watch for this moving tale of resilience and women who would not take no for an answer, coming this fall. Watch for it!

Rainy has traveled all over the USA and especially loves the romance of train travel, though she's no stranger to the roads.
