About the Author

Some stories wait decades to be told. On my last visit to my father, I discovered his handwritten memoirs tucked away in a drawer — his firsthand account of survival so extraordinary I couldn't let it disappear.

 

Armed with an MFA in Creative Writing and determination, I transformed his dramatic story of survival and resilience during World War II in China to a much-loved war memoir. The Able Queen recently won an International Impact Award for excellence.

My first novel, a work of speculative historical fiction, is due for release this fall. Devils on Horseback, tells a family secret cloaked in the exciting concept of time travel. Watch for this moving tale told by women who would not give up, and not take no for an answer.​​​​​
